The former mayor of Auckland turned radio host, John Banks, dumped from Magic Talk Radio for a caller's comments that Maori are a "stone age culture" predisposed to drunkenness and crime etc.. Banks didn't argue with the caller and appeared to agree, saying if that stone-age culture (namely Maori) doesn't change his children will have them climbing through their bathroom window....
Dumping Banks: is this cancel culture? Was it right that Banks was dropped for a caller's comments? Was the caller correct?
It is a fact that Maori make up 60-70% of our prison inmate population yet only form 12% of our country's population. Is that evidence of a stone-age culture or are they just pissed at life because media and educators have fed them NZ history revision, that the British stole all their land and turned them into slaves 150 years ago?
I think it would be very hard not to be angry at Pakeha (western European and British descendants) if I was Maori and continually told pakeha stole our land and made us slaves. If I wasn't a Christian I might feel the urge to rob my pakeha neighbours and take back some stuff.
